The village has a exceptionally well-preserved accumulation of village buildings in the style kenned as South Bohemia folk Baroque.
The village was first mentioned in the mid-13th century. They are centered round an astronomically immense rectangular square. There are 23 forfended farmsteads with a total of 120 buildings. They include farms with granaries, barns, stables and houses for retired peasants, and additionally a smithy, a pub and a chapel. Local wells with a wooden piston pump are additionally unique. The village is still sempiternally inhabited.
