The column of Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, which was consummated in 1614. At the time of its construction from 1716 – 1754 the Olomouc monument was one of the last examples of this fashion wave, but with its ingenious concept, wealth of adornment and conclusively its dimensions and height 35 meters. 

 It varies considerably from all homogeneous monuments. After its completion the column was a source of extreme pride or the inhabitants of the city because everybody who had played a role in its construction emanated from Olomouc. Its consecration on 9th September was attended in person by the then first couple of the Monarchy, Empress maria Teresa and her husband Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor, Duke of Lorraine.
